The new travel guide, Princess With A Backpack, provides tips and advice for young women looking for adventure while traveling abroad solo. Lauren’s book was published by Morgan James Publishers (2011), and is based on her travels to the Middle East, United States, and Europe.
Her journeys include a three-month tour of the Middle East just after completing high school, backpacking through Europe on her own for six months at the age of 24, and coming to the United States by herself at age 25. She’s trekked to Greece, Turkey, France, Portugal, Croatia, Spain, Italy, Germany, England, and other countries.
Lauren is a qualified Architect, graduating with a Bachelor of Architecture from UNSW, Sydney, and held several jobs in architecture and design in both Sydney and New York. She also been a contributor for the Sydney Morning Herald, msnbc.com, ninemsn.com with articles about hotel design, retail space, events, and office makeovers.
She was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and raised in Perth, Western Australia. Lauren moved to Sydney, Australia when she turned 18.
She spent a year living in New York City, writing and designing in 2008-2009 and just couldn’t keep away and returned again in 2012. Lauren adores her new life in Manhattan and continues to travel…. instyle – of course!

I love the European summer holidays and fortunatley I haven’t had to worry about backpacking these holidays.
I’ve been cruising around the Adriatic for the past few weeks in a Luxury cruiser that has everything. I felt like a Princess.
It was very interesting from entering a country from the water instead of the land, such as Venice and understanding how Venice came to be and the Architecture and Urban Integration. I’m sure You’d know the history.
Anyway back in London now and trying to find the enviable Design/PM job….. Keep u posted on an inside contact….looking good.
Can’t wait to get to NYC in September, shopping itinery is just warming up.

Accommodation in Australia is diverse and is similar to most Western countries. I’ve visited Europe, France and Canada and found a lot of similarities. Motels are abundant, backpackers are everywhere with a million standards. And all are safe. Keep blogging.
