Refresher Course: Packing light 101

Posted by | 0 comments

There’s no better feeling than traveling light. You know when you get to your destination and open your case, you’ve packed too much. How can we possibly wear all the outfits we’ve packed, and leave room for lots of wonderful overseas shopping? Well, you can’t and trust me – you don’t want to!

Here are a few basics for your upcoming escape:

1. Pack light, buy there

Don’t lug around a huge bag of toiletries. Your best items to pack are toothbrush & paste, Bio-oil (moisteriser) and Cetaphil (body and facewash).

Try aim for two pairs of shoes max. If you need others – you’ll buy there.

2. Ah the memories..

Cameras especially SLR cameras can be burdensome. I recently purchased a Nikon DSLR and love it! However, if its not part of your job, leave it at home. There are some great models out there. Look out for ones with GPS technology, which helps organise your shots when you get home.

3. Knowledge is Power

No longer do you have to lag around heavy Lonely Planet books. The only thing you need to pack is your lightweight copy of Princess with a Backpack and an i-pad where you can download your e-book version of the best travel tips.
