Another stylish boutique hotel has launched in Barcelona, this time with a little elbow room. The Almanac, the debut hotel (of the Almanac Group) in the chic Passeig de Gracia neighborhood, is their first in many glamorous boutique hotels across Europe.
Local studio Office of Architecture has joined two 18th- and 20th-century buildings into a 91-room hotel, with the help of Jaime Beriestain Studio, this hotel is definitely on my top hotel list. The interiors integrate white marbled bathrooms with copper accents against a bedroom pallet of oak and walnut to create light, bright, modern, yet classic interiors.
All the hotel’s beds are oversized and made specifically for Almanac Hotels by Austrian company Symphonic. The ridiculously comfy sheets are made in Barcelona by local firm Bassols. The combination of both makes staying in bed easy. Our honeymoon suite was sensational – a lounge area, separate from the bedroom and luxuriously large bathroom with tub, made this a perfect spot for a couple of days. The private terrace overlooking the exclusive area of Barcelona was fantastic and the hint of seaside beyond, was dreamy.
If you do make it out of the room, head towards the lobby’s Línea. A cosy restaurant and bar with high-ceilings and classic dark interiors – deep blues, dark wood floors & brass details. Feel like being outdoors and enjoying the Spanish sunshine? The Almanac has you covered (so to speak). Their gorgeous, expansive rooftop bar and lounge with insane views and a great rooftop pool and bar, makes this hotel your one-stop-shop.
