Paris’s coziest & most romantic hotel
Situated in one of Paris’s best and most quaint locations, is the little romantic gem, Bourg Tibourg.
The eloquent, subdued chic French facade, is just a ruse for whats to come inside, as the interiors are in stark contrast, with a rich, jewel-like, whimsical palette. Yards of fabric in oriental tones drape the walls, plush armchairs and moody lighting add sensuality, to create the fantasy, interior designer, Jacques Garcia, had intended for a romantic weekend away.
As Jacques explains, “It’s a small space. I thought it would be interesting to show that small can become grand.” The design even manages to create a little courtyard in the centre of the hotel and a comfortable and elegant lobby equipped with a bar for a much needed aperitif, whilst listening to some Jazz or catching up on the latest newspaper in a sunny spot.
The hotel located in Le Marais is small and quaint just like the rest of the neighborhood, but just more of a reason to cosy up with your loved one.
Bourg Tibourg feels a little like the younger sister to Hotel Costes, and even has some of the beauty products and candles around the hotel to hint at quality and sensuality that Hotel Costes is famous for.
It doesn’t have a restaurant but who needs one when you’re surrounded by the best restaurants and cafes in Paris. They do however, still serve breakfast and is worth waking up for or can be delivered to your room. The breakfast is located underground in a medieval cellar and is a delight on a winter’s day in Paris. Leopard print fabrics, red trims and stone vaulted ceiling and walls feels cosy, plush and rich. The typical French breakfast of buttery, flakey croissant, baguette, coffee and finished with a bowl of sweet raspberries is just what any in love couple could want.
Just as the interiors have been carefully selected to create the correct ambiance, so to have the books and films in the hotel. Classics books are located in the lobby for guests to enjoy, such as Marcel Proust – Les Plaisirs et les jour, W.G. Sebald – Les Anneaux de Saturn andOscar Wilde – L’Eventail de Lady Windermere. Films, as we know are made for enjoying in bed and include some classic English and French films such as Belle de Jour and Hotel California.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful – need a hairdresser at 3pm, or a late dinner with asian-fusion menu? They have you covered. The staff is young enough to know where the the coolest spots are, but mature in their delivery and very polite.
Treat your loved one this spring with a stay at Bourg Tibourg and reignite your passion or keep it going with the right setting, in a perfect location.
